She combines this approach and philosophy with passion and determination to achieve the best possible outcome for all of her divorce and custody clients.
Kristy's practice is solely focused on family law. She has a wealth of experience, and not just with the mundane. Kristy has extensive experience with complex property cases, including divorces complicated by multifaceted estate planning such as trusts and family limited partnerships, as well as divorces requiring forensic accounting. Kristy has extensive experience with international divorce and custody matters. She also works with LGBTQ clients and non-traditional family units on a regular basis.
Kristy has extensive and varied courtroom experience in family law. She has trial experience in both first and second chairs, as well as jury trials. She has also handled family law appeals. She has appeared in court in family law cases throughout Central Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast.
Kristy has worked for the firm since 2013. Kristy previously worked at the Waco Children's Advocacy Center and the Harris County Office of the District Attorney, Child Abuse Division, where she collaborated with District Attorneys, forensic interviewers, Child Protective Services, and law enforcement to address important sensitive legal issues for child victims and their families.
Kristy earned her bachelor's degree from Baylor University and her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. She excelled in moot court and mock trial competitions throughout her undergraduate and law school careers. Kristy's competitive nature propelled her to national volleyball success in high school and college.
Kristy is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts as well as the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Kristy's philosophy of respect and concern for others extends to her community as well. She is in charge of many of Diggs & Sadler's community service projects, such as organizing shifts at the Houston Food Bank and the firm's involvement with Adopt-an-Angel. Kristy is a Co-Founder of Women of Law, a non-profit organization that helps minority women in the legal community, and she serves on the Young Professionals Board of Covenant House Texas, a Houston-based organization that helps homeless youth. She recently took over as captain of the firm's MS150 cycling team.
Kristy is the daughter of two US Army veterans, so she spent much of her childhood traveling, giving her a broader worldview that has helped her better understand and serve her international divorce clients.
Kristy lives in Round Rock and has spent her entire family law career in Austin, Houston, and the counties and communities of central Texas.
