About Kelly M. Dodd
Kelly M. Dodd is our internal firm manager, serving as an attorney resource and in-house client advocate to provide additional oversight, dispute resolution, and bottomless late-night second opinions to our lawyers and clients. She now provides a comprehensive training and mentoring curriculum to attorneys and staff, and she oversees the development and improvement of the firm's diverse legal services. She has over 20 years of experience as a partner-level family law attorney.
She leads the appellate practice group, which has over 120 years of combined appellate experience and has handled over 50 cases in the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Kelly, no stranger to the higher courts, argued and won the landmark Frisch v. Henrichs case, which established that parents who intentionally obstruct accurate reporting of their income to sabotage child support modifications can face significant fines. She has briefed and argued in over a dozen Wisconsin Court of Appeals cases.
Kelly had extensive experience as a practicing attorney in all areas of family law, including obscure and peripheral tissues such as partition actions, annulments, international jurisdiction disputes, and cohabitation agreements. Her divorce practice focused on high-asset divorces, including one involving a $140 million estate.
Kelly enjoys writing and editing outside of work and has co-authored seven full-length humorous mystery novels with her brother. She is also the lead singer in a cover band that performs at local festivals such as the State Fair and Summerfest.
