Hello, I was in a motor vehicle accident. In Texas. I was not at fault and my vehicle was totaled. I suffered neck and back pain did not seek treatment at the time.. the accident
it happened a month ago and I’m still having neck and back pain. I also sought therapy from the emotional trauma of the wreck. The insurance company pressured me into a recorded phone conversation with no information prior stating that they would offer me a settlement for $1500 to compensate my medical bills and pressure pressured me into stating I would not pursue any further medical treatment. Nor any wage garnishes.
Would it benefit me to hire an attorney to help cover my medical expenses if I need to pursue medical treatment, such as chiropractic or have any major issues come up later? I spoke to an attorney on the phone and she said that because I did not sign anything in writing I have a good chance at winning a case. Others have told me that I don’t have a great chance because I agreed over a phone recording.
what are the downsides of hiring an attorney? She said I would not have to pay anything out of my pocket and that they would only get paid if they win my case. I’ve never had an attorney so it makes me very nervous and obviously lawyers are the expert of the game and I’m worried I will have to owe something or get myself into a bigger situation than I am in now.
I’m also being low bawled on my car so I’m hoping that some of the medical expenses will help compensate for my major financial loss on my car
