This question was posted on our subreddit:
“A few weeks ago, I was in an accident here in NYC and now I’m realizing how stressful everything is between medical visits, missed work, and insurance companies that don’t seem to have my best interests in mind.
I’ve never dealt with anything legal before, so I’m not sure if reaching out to a personal injury lawyer makes sense this early on, or if that’s only something people do if things get really serious or head to court.
Has anyone here been through this in NYC? Did having a lawyer actually help, or was it unnecessary?”
